Artist Jan Havlik

"My goal is to produce the most realistic and authentic dolls around, dolls so real and life like that one has to do a double take to know for sure.

These are not beautiful craft projects but works of art with lasting quality that can be passed down from generation to generation."

I have been happily married to my high school sweetheart for 35 years. We have five grown children four of our own and one adopted from El Salvador. We are the very proud grand parents of two beautiful grand daughters.

I took some art classes in school with the goal of becoming a commercial artist but finally decided on a career in Nursing.   As a Nurse, most of my years as a nurse were spent in the Neonatal Nursery.  I retired when my own children were born but always loved and missed my work with the newborn babies.

I have also been an avid doll collector most of my life. Imagine my delight to discover in 2003 the art of reborning that allows me to combine my love for dolls, art and for newborn babies!!!!  I have been a doll artist for five years and it has become a passion.

I have been blessed with many awards and ribbons and two trophies in competition for my work. My reborn's now live coast to coast in the US and internationally in Australia, Japan, Canada, France, Italy, the UK, New Zealand, Slovenia and the Netherlands. My work has been featured in Doll Crafter and Doll Reader magazines. My article on achieving newborn skin tones was the featured article in the June 2006 issue of Doll Crafter and it was my first published work. I am very thankful and grateful for the recognition but my greatest reward has been the many wonderful friends that I have met through my passion for Reborn Babies.

My sincere thanks to all who have supported my work over the years, it has been both an honor and a blessing.
